Thank you to our neighbors at Bulldog News for the collection of coffee, hot chocolate, chocolate bars and tea! They've also generously agreed to support SYM in other ways like providing event space for fundraisers in the future and being open to job opportunities for our clients ready to enter the workforce! The U District is a generous community, and we are so glad to have made this connection! |

Blog post: Activities & Outings |
"At SYM, our work often involves helping clients navigate immediate needs, connect to resources, or work through difficult circumstances. Those things are incredibly important, but our clients are also people who deserve opportunities to laugh, explore, have fun, and simply enjoy themselves, which was an apparent result of our activities this summer. These outings reminded me that the work we do at SYM isn’t always about solving a problem. Sometimes, it’s about creating a space where someone can feel included, connected, and able to enjoy the moment. These moments helped us build relationships, have fun experiences, and create memories together. As the summer comes to an end, I am grateful for the opportunity to have helped create these experiences and to have shared them with our clients."

Ashlyn & Jennifer came to us from Social Work programs- one in an MSW program at UC Boulder, one in the BASW program at UW. Their internships started in the winter, and they've only continued to grow into their roles in programs like Breakfast Program and Drop-In and as supports in other ways like Jennifer through fundraising efforts and procurement connections and Ashlyn through Harm Reduction training for staff and Case Management shadowing! We are so grateful for these two and will continue to cheer them into their futures in Social Work!
