“If you are thinking about volunteering at SYM, I highly recommend it. You may go in thinking you are there to help other people, but the experience might change you too. SYM is incredibly important to the community. It gives young people a safe place where they can get food, support, and people who care about them. I’m very grateful to be part of it!” - Caeley Moushegian, SYM Breakfast Program, Coffee Run, and Drop-In volunteer |

The only volunteer area Caeley does NOT participate in is Meal Team! We are in need of some people excited about cooking bulk meals for our Drop-In center! Read more about the impact of these meals below. |

Our dear Drop-in Coordinator, Antonio, has resigned from SYM, effective September 25. Antonio has been such a steadfast presence in SYM Drop-in and I know the whole community of staff, volunteers and most of all, clients will miss him dearly.
Quote from Antonio, "I’m truly grateful for all the years I’ve had with SYM, the experiences I’ve gained, and most importantly, the opportunity to work alongside such an amazing team and serve the community. SYM has meant a lot to me, and I’ll always appreciate the people and memories I’ve made here." If you would like to send Antonio an appreciation card / gift:

There's a new addition to UDYC- this little free library donated by Little Free Library and installed by Teen Feed provides free reading for our youth! Clients are always asking for books, and this is the most accessible way for people to browse and pick out what they want to engage their minds! Teen Feed will continue to decorate and beautify this space! If you're holding onto some great books that you'd like to pass along, bring them by UDYC: 4516 15th Ave NE.

“A community is the mental and spiritual condition of knowing that the place is shared, and that the people who share the place define and limit the possibilities of each other's lives." - Wendell Berry, American poet |
